The fully equipped ambulance procured by the North Goa District Mineral Foundation (NGDMF) for the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bicholim has proven to be a vital asset in providing emergency medical services to the mining-affected region. Since its integration into the healthcare system, the ambulance attends over 30 emergency calls per month, ensuring timely medical intervention for critical cases, including accidents, medical emergencies, snake bites and maternal care. This initiative has significantly reduced response time, allowing patients to receive urgent medical attention and improving survival rates in severe cases. The presence of this dedicated emergency vehicle has strengthened the overall healthcare infrastructure, providing reliable and accessible medical transport for the local community. With its continued service, the ambulance remains a lifeline for the residents, ensuring that healthcare reaches those in need, when they need it the most.
