The Governing Council in order to streamline transportation of school students in under serviced areas of mining belt, thought of providing 5 school buses. Thus, specific routes were carefully selected in consultation with the Education Department & Elected representative to cater to the needs of students residing in these areas. This dedicated school bus service will significantly benefit students, especially those travelling long distances, by ensuring a safe, comfortable, and punctual commute. The NGDMF sanctioned the purchase of 5 school buses for the use of the Education Department. The buses will be operated and maintained by the Education Department either on their own or through KTCL and will benefit students from these areas irrespective of the schools where they study. This project was sanctioned in the Governing Council meeting held on 24 January 2024 for 1.75 Cr, and the buses are expected to be on road by the end of the academic year 2024-2025.
